Save the Earth!

For lazy people.
Captain Planet I'm not...no uber-nifty superpowers for me.

Until now!

I recently came across a cool site that lets even people like me (lazy, with no money, and stuck in the middle of nowhere) do a little to help the planet.

Care2.com is a free site you can make an account at. It has all sorts of cool things, from petitions to recipes, blogs to groups. My favorite part of the site is called the daily click...every day you can go in and click on a number of different groups and each click will go to support a cause!
Care2 also gives you a free email account, and you can set up your preferences so that any mail from the site will go to that account and not to your main email - a lifesaver if you go on a petition-signing binge and end up with 50 thank you notes in your inbox!

In a similar vein is a site I found a few months ago. FreeRice.com is an awesome website - it both teaches you something and helps others at the same time! You answer vocabulary questions one after the other...every right answer is a donation of 20 grains of rice! It's not just vocabulary, either...at the very top of the site is a tab called "Subjects". Clicking it brings you to a page full of possible subjects to be tested on! From grammar to vocabulary, math to science, art to foreign languages, with more subjects yet to come.
If you want to keep track of how many grains you've gotten, you can change your preferences to keep track from visit to visit, letting you see the rice pile up.

I'm always keeping an eye out for more things like this, where I can visit for a few minutes every day while I'm on the computer to try and do something good for the world.
Let me know if you find any more and I'll keep an eye out and update if I come across any more. ^^
